Cambridge City have played at Milton Road since 1922
Cambridge City have secured a deal to keep them at their Milton Road stadium for at least another two seasons.
The Lilywhites' lease at the city centre ground, which they sold in 2003, was due to expire in May but has now been extended the deal until 2013.
Chairman Kevin Satchell told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Two more years puts us two years closer to a new ground.
"It's not easy to find a new ground in or around Cambridge, but there are options and we are looking at them."
City had lined up a groundshare deal with Newmarket Town as a contingency plan, but will now continue to explore options closer to their current home.
"Newmarket have recognised that City would find it hard to turn down any possibility of extending our stay at Milton Road," Satchell added.
"They really could not have been more helpful to us and we remain grateful to them for their understanding in this matter."
The Milton Road stadium was bought by developers in 2003, but a High Court ruling in 2007 saw it sold to a special purpose partnership called Cambridge City Football Ground LLP, with the aim of giving the club a better deal when the land is eventually re-sold.
City were relegated from the Blue Square Southern Premier in 2008 after their ground did not meet the Football Association's Ground Grading Category B.
