Goals from Robbie Willmott and Wayne Gray helped Cambridge United to make it five consecutive unbeaten away games with victory at Barrow.
Willmott notched a fine solo effort before crossing for Wayne Gray who headed into the bottom corner.
The visitors then had James Jennings sent off for time wasting with five minutes left.
Barrow managed a consolation goal, Louis Almond sweeping home Marc Goodfellow's cross in the last minute.
