Southport 5-1 Gateshead

Matty McNeil
Former Stockport forward McNeil scored Southport's fourth goal

Southport scored five second-half goals to end a run of 10 games without a victory by thrashing Gateshead.

The visitors took the lead on the stroke of half time, as Martin Brittain put his free-kick in the top corner.

A Southport counter-attack saw Paul Barratt fire low past Paul Farman and then John Kissock set up Karl Ledsham.

Kissock's low free-kick made it three, Matty McNeil drilled in from 18 yards, and Michael Powell's shot from the edge of the box capped a stylish comeback.
