First half goals from Robbie Willmott and Wayne Gray secured Cambridge's second away win of the season against struggling Eastbourne.
Willmott gave the visitors the lead when he headed in his eighth goal of the season from Danny Wright's cross.
The midfielder then turned provider, swinging in a cross from the left which Gray tapped home.
Matt Crabb produced Eastbourne's best effort with a shot from distance which Danny Naisbitt tipped round the post.
