Saturday's Blue Square Bet Premier fixture between York City and AFC Wimbledon has been postponed because of the adverse weather.
A new date will be arranged for sometime in the new year.
Minstermen secretary Nick Bassett told BBC Radio York: "There is just so much snow that there is nowhere for us to move it to.
"By the time we've piled it up at the side of the pitch you wouldn't be able to see the game."
He continued: "We've got several burst pipes around the ground that we can't get to to repair so that would be an issue because straight away it means that there's no running water in the toilets and things which is a health problem.
"In addition, the terrace at the Grosvenor Road end is open to the elements and there's a serious amount of snow on there.
"Clearing that to make that safe for people to stand on is a massive job and then you've got the surrounds of the stadium as well.
"You've got another foot of snow in the car park that we're in the middle of clearing at the moment. It's such a massive task."
