A brace apiece from Wayne Gray and Danny Wright helped Cambridge United overcome rock-bottom Altrincham.

Wright's smart finish from deep inside the area put the home side ahead and Gray doubled the lead when he fired the ball into the bottom corner.

Jordan Patrick teed up Gray for his second from close range, before Wright poked home the fourth.

The away side's misery was compounded when Shaun Densmore saw his penalty saved by Danny Naisbitt.
