Rankine joined York from Bournemouth in June 2009

York striker Michael Rankine scored from the penalty spot to earn the Minstermen a Blue Square Bet Premier draw with Wrexham.

The visitors led from the 13th minute when Jamie Tolley hit the top right hand corner of the net from inside the penalty area.

But after Curtis Obeng handled the ball inside the area, Rankine sent Chris Maxwell the wrong way to level.

However, Maxwell proved equal to York's other shots on goal.
