A moment of magic from Chris McPhee was enough to boost Kidderminster's play-off hopes at the expense of Histon.
McPhee scored the only goal of the game when he cut in from the right and fired home from outside the area.
Lee Vaughan and Keith Briggs both missed good chances to double Harriers' advantage.
And Histon almost punished the visitors but Antonio Murray shot wide from 20 yards and Lanre Oyebanjo's late header also missed the target.
