Forest Green remain in the Blue Square Bet Premier relegation zone despite holding on for a point at Eastbourne.
The hosts, aiming to end a winless run of five games, had the best chances but could not grab a match-winning goal.
Luke Rooney was twice denied by Forest Green goalkeeper James Bittner, while Jamie Taylor poked wide from six yards.
Forest Green, looking for only their second away win of the season, offered little apart from a Mike Fowler effort that Rikki Banks comfortably stopped.
Forest Green boss Dave Hockaday told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"This is a tough place to come. Eastbourne have been banging a lot of goals in, especially at home, so for us to keep a clean sheet was the first target.
"We've ridden our luck at times and yet at the end we've had two magnificent chances to have stolen the game.
"So overall, happy with a point, delighted with the clean sheet and there's a little bit of me obviously disappointed that we didn't bury one of those great chances at the end."
