Danny Kedwell was AFC Wimbledon's hero as they returned to the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier.
The Dons hitman scored his 11th and 12th goals of the campaign to end the contest before the break.
Kedwell needed just 24 seconds to open the scoring, slotting home from just inside the area following Ricky Wellard's pass. And the striker then put himself joint-second in the scoring charts by tapping in Samuel Hatton's cross.
Altrincham were better after the break with Robbie Williams coming close to finding the net with a close range header and Wes Baynes also missing.
But Wimbledon could have won this match by a far bigger margin with Rashid Yussuff going closest when his shot hit the bar.
