Three first half goals were enough to see Cambridge record an impressive away victory at Gateshead.

Josh Coulson headed in a Robbie Willmott corner to put the visitors in front, but Jon Shaw smashed in a Martin Brittain cross to equalise.

Wayne Gray restored United's lead when he slotted in from six yards, before good work from Danny Wright allowed Simon Russell to fire in.

Shaw tapped in from close range to give Gateshead hope, but United held on.
