Michael Rankine's fourth goal of the season inspired York to victory over lowly Hayes & Yeading.
After a quiet first half, York turned the game after the break, reverting to a more attacking, three-pronged attack.
It enabled Daniel Parslow to set up Rankine, who fired into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Substitute Michael Gash then put through Leon Constantine, who smartly hooked over his shoulder from close range to put the result beyond doubt.
