Chippenham Town and Salisbury City share the points
Chippenham boss Adie Mings (L) and Salisbury's Darrell Clarke (R) have yet to see their teams lose this season
Chippenham Town and Salisbury City remain unbeaten in the Zamaretto Southern Premier League after drawing 1-1 at Hardenhuish Park.
Matt Wright put the visitors ahead in the 38th minute after Chippenham goalkeeper Chris Snoddy failed to deal with a free-kick.
Sam Allison equalised ten minutes after the re-start after being set up by Lewis Powell and Scott Lye.
It was the first time the teams had met in a league game since 2006.
In front of a crowd of 858, the first-half lacked any clear cut chances until Wright pounced on Snoddy's error. The Chippenham 'keeper could not claim Ryan Brett's free-kick and the ball fell to Wright who found the open net.
Chippenham looked better after the interval but needed a goal-line clearance from Greg Tindle to prevent Salisbury increasing their lead. Within a minute Allison fired home from the right side of the penalty area.
Shaun Benison had a great opportunity to win the game late on but fired over.
Both managers felt it was the proverbial game of two halves.
"First half we probably waited to see what they had to offer, probably paid them too much respect but second half I thought we were the better side," Chippenham boss Adie Mings told BBC Wiltshire.
"On chances created I thought we probably should have won the game."
His opposite number Darrell Clarke was disappointed that the Salisbury players did not make the most of their half-time advantage.
"We looked in control first-half," he said. "We had a game plan, it was all going well then we start the second half sloppy. We never really got going again."
