An Earl Davis header was enough to secure a narrow Southport victory at home to local rivals Fleetwood Town.

Davis powerfully headed home Matty McGinn's throw-in to extend the Yellows' unbeaten run to four games.

Fleetwood defender Paul Linwood missed a great opportunity to equalise when his tame shot failed to trouble keeper Tony McMillan.

And the league's top scorer Magno Vieira flattered to deceive throughout, only shooting wide from 25 yards.
