Fleetwood Town saw off Gateshead to record their first away victory in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

The hosts could have led but Cod Army keeper Danny Hurst denied Phil Turnbull with his feet.

Fleetwood grew in confidence and Wayne Curtis hit the post before Magno Vieira opened the scoring after a neat through-ball from Curtis.

And the visitors doubled their lead when Jamie McGuire volleyed home from 25 yards a minute before the break.
