Big-spending Crawley held on to beat Bath with their goals scored and assisted by four summer signings.
The Red Devils took the lead when Matt Tubbs swept the ball home after a good ball from Steve Masterton.
Craig McAllister sealed the win from the spot after Sekani Simpson fouled Sergio Torres and Tubbs hit the post.
Danny Webb headed home Marc Canham's ball for Bath against the run of play, although City never really looked like snatching an unlikely point.
