Ian Herring missed a late penalty as Forest Green Rovers could only manage a home draw with Gateshead.

The home side took the lead early on when Reece Styche fired home from deep inside the penalty area.

Gary Mulligan equalised for the visitors midway through the second half when he headed in from close range.

Forest Green had a chance to win the game late on when Phil Turnbull fouled Styche in the area but Herring missed the resultant penalty.
