Striker Jason Walker's second-half brace helped down ten-man Rushden & Diamonds and earn Barrow a first win of the campaign.
After a low-key start, Walker opened the scoring with a glorious chip over Dale Roberts.
Jamie Stuart then saw red for hurling down Walker in the penalty area.
And the Barrow striker converted the resulting spot-kick to ensure the Diamonds ended the day bottom of the Blue Square Bet Premier.
