Steven Masterton's free-kick gave Crawley their first win of the season over Altrincham.
New recruit Matt Tubbs made an early impression for the visitors, forcing a save from Altrincham's Stuart Coburn.
Masterton made the vital breakthrough for Crawley in the second half when he curled his free-kick from 20 yards into the top corner.
Altrincham struggled to make an impact in the game and despite a late rally were unable to find an equaliser.
