Mansfield 3-1 Forest Green

Two goals from Paul Connor helped Mansfield to an opening day victory against Forest Green.

After a goalless first half, Gary Silk broke down the right and set up Connor, who fired the Stags into the lead.

Gavin Gaines' header levelled the game five minutes later before the hosts restored their advantage thanks to Gary Mills' effort from 20 yards.

Connor's right-footed shot hit a post but he later finished the game off when he scored from the edge of the box.
