Wrexham striker Wes Baynes gave his side victory to end their disappointing season on a high at Hayes & Yeading.
Baynes owed his 23rd-minute chance to home keeper Clark Masters, whose poor clearance attempt only reached the Wrexham striker.
Baynes finished in clinical fashion, drilling the ball into the net from 25 yards after chesting it down.
Hayes ended the season 17th having won 12 games and lost 20 while Wrexham, in 11th, won 15 and lost 16.
