The loan signing of Mark Beesley from Cambridge could be the key to AFC Telford getting promotion this season according to fellow striker Andy Brown.

Beesley scored his first Bucks goal in the 4-0 win over Hyde, after joining Telford through to May.

"He brings something different to the team," Brown told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"He's got that little bit of movement, and he's very clever in and around the box. He's another weapon in our attacking armoury."

Beesley began his career at Preston in 1998, before playing League football at Chester and Hereford and then moving into the Blue Square Premier with Forest Green and onto Cambridge.

"We've got a decent strike force here with Mark, myself, Danny Carey-Bertram and Steve Thompson," Brown added.

"We know we should have scored more goals, but with Mark here and hopefully with everyone fully fit we should be firing off for the play-offs."

Telford are currently hovering on the edge of the Blue Square North play-off zone but could sneak in with good results in their run-in to the end of the season.
