FA rejects appeal over Conference decision on Chester
The Football Association has upheld the Football Conference's decision to expunge Chester City's results after an appeal was ruled to be "out of time".
A number of Blue Square Premier clubs, including Oxford and Stevenage, wanted Chester's record in the Blue Square Premier this season to stand.
But they have been told by the FA that their appeal was too late.
Solicitors representing the clubs claimed the decision to expunge Chester was made on 8 March not 26 February.
A letter from the FA to the solicitors acting for the clubs lodging the appeal said: "The FA is satisfied that the decision of the Board of the Football Conference was first announced by the League on the 26th February and, consequently, the appeal is out of time."
