Kettering's slim hopes of reaching the play-offs are all but over after they were held by 10-man Histon.
The Stutes played an hour with 10 men after Daniel Wright was dismissed for shoving James Jennings, following a tackle by the Poppies defender.
Jennings then fired Kettering into the lead from 10 yards out after David Knight saved his initial effort.
Nathaniel Knight-Percival hit a post for Histon, before Lee Smith's 25-yard free-kick rescued a point.
James Dance rattled the woodwork with 16 minutes left for the Poppies, who would need to win their remaining three games and hope York lose their final five - making up 14 goals in the process.
