A second-half Danny Forrest penalty edged the win for Crawley Town against Hayes & Yeading.
Crawley looked the brighter side from the outset and nearly went ahead early on but Adam Quinn headed wide. The hosts continued to press but Hayes stood strong and it remained goalless at half-time.
Hayes were finally broken in the 57th minute when Matt Ruby sent Michael Malcolm tumbling in the box and Forrest blasted home from the penalty spot.
