Barrow pulled further away from the Blue Square Premier relegation zone after taking a point from a goalless encounter with Histon.
The hosts made it six games without defeat in a match of few chances.
Glen Southam came closest for Histon but his shot was well saved by Tim Deasy in the Barrow goal.
Barrow's Simon Wiles then dragged a long-range effort well wide. Wiles almost stole the points late-on but his 30-yard drive drifted beyond the post.
Histon manager Alan Lewer told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire:

"We made some changes, playing with one up top, but the shape suited us, we played our football in the right areas at the right time," said Lewer.
"I can't fault any of my players for commitment, work rate and desire."
