Chadwick bagged his second vital goal for Barrow in five days
Two Andy Bond penalties saw 10-man Barrow come from behind to see off fellow strugglers Eastbourne Borough and secure a fifth consecutive victory.
The Bluebirds, who are now six points ahead of Borough, led when Nick Chadwick headed in Mark Boyd's corner.
But, after Barrow's Jason Walker was sent off for violent conduct before the break, Jamie Taylor twice scored from 18 yards to put Borough ahead.
However Bond twice kept his cool from the spot to win it for the Bluebirds.
It looked like Eastbourne might draw level on points with Barrow when Andy Atkin twice set up Taylor to score from the edge of the box inside eight minutes.
That took top scorer Taylor's haul to 12 goals for the season.
But, having gone 2-1 down, Barrow's 10 men refused to lie down.
Bond levelled from the spot on 64 minutes when Chadwick was fouled by Gary Elphick.
And the comeback was complete on 82 minutes when Bond again held his nerve to beat Danny Knowles from 12 yards after Simon Johnson had brought down Robin Hulbert.
