Kettering kept the pressure on the teams above them in the play-off race with a comfortable win over relegation-threatened Grays Athletic.
The Poppies took an early lead when defender Ian Roper found the back of the net with a close-range volley.
Kettering doubled their advantage just before half-time when James Jennings headed in John Dempster's cross.
The visitors' only noteworthy chance came in injury time when Alex Rhodes' effort hit keeper Nathan Abbey.
Kettering Town player manager Lee Harper told BBC Radio Northampton: "We really should have been four or five up.
"We'll take the victory, it was a solid performance and a clean sheet, so we're pleased.
"It's been five months (without a win at home) but we haven't played that many games. So a good result today."
