Porter joined Rushden from Barnet in July 2009

Max Porter's late strike gave Rushden & Diamonds victory away at Tamworth and lifted them to third spot in the Blue Square Premier table.

Porter latched on to Mark Byrne's pass and finished from outside the area for the only goal seven minutes from time.

Earlier, Aaron O'Connor forced home keeper Danny Alcock to save, while Lee Tomlin spurned two first-half chances.

Iyseden Christie, Michael Wylde and Chris Smith all wasted chances for Tamworth, and Porter made them pay.
