Play-off contenders Mansfield Town and Luton Town fought out a closely contested goalless draw at Field Mill.

The visitors almost took an early lead when defender Fred Murray ventured forward and drove a shot from 25-yards just wide.

Stags midfielder Ryan Williams then saw his fiercely struck long-range effort blocked by Adam Newton.

Luton's Asa Hall had a 30-yard drive parried by Alan Marriott before he headed wide from a corner.
