Hayes & Yeading staged a second-half comeback to beat Gateshead in an entertaining encounter at Church Road.
Justin Cochrane fired the home team ahead with a 25-yard effort, but Daryl Clarke equalised from the spot after Matt Ruby brought down Brian Wake.
Clarke grabbed a second with a header from Paul Heckingbottom's free-kick.
But James Mulley levelled from close range before Steve Basham scored a decisive penalty after Dale Binns was upended in the Gateshead box.
