Mansfield 0-2 Gateshead

Brian Wake scored twice as Gateshead ruined Mansfield's "pay what you want" day in front of a bumper crowd.

More than 7,000 people turned up for a game where supporters were invited to pay any amount they wanted, causing kick-off to be delayed by 10 minutes.

But despite the partisan following, the Stags fell behind inside five minutes to Wake's fine 20-yard strike.

Jake Speight could have levelled but shot tamely from 12 yards and Wake sealed the win from close range.

Speight also went close late on and Gary Silk hit the bar but the visitors held on.
