Rushden & Diamonds and Wrexham produced a Blue Square Premier game with plenty of chances but no goals on Tuesday.
Craig Farrell should have given the home side an early lead but blazed onto the crossbar from just six yards.
Mark Byrne scrambled in a low cross but was flagged for offside, but then Rushden goalkeeper Dale Roberts had to make a fine save to deny Lamine Sakho.
After the break Frank Sinclair hit the woodwork for Wrexham while Byrne's late header could have won it for Rushden.
Rushden and Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton:
"I think a draw was a fair result on reflection.
I always thought it was going to be tough - it was their 16th clean sheet of the season so it tells you they don't give much away.
"When you get chances then you have to be ruthless."
Wrexham manager Dean Saunders: "I'm disappointed we haven't won with the chances we had.
"The ball has hit the post and hit the underneath of the bar.
"Obi [Anoruo] could have had a hat-trick when he came on, the goalie's made three great saves.
"The game was X-certificate there at one stage, the challenges going in, but we battled, we looked solid."
