Crawley bounced back from successive defeats to beat Tamworth thanks to Lewis Killeen's first-half goal.
Killeen finished from six yards out after being picked out by a Michael Malcolm pass.
Tamworth piled on the pressure, with Neil MacKenzie seeing his free-kick saved by Simon Rayner and Jake Sheridan shooting wide from 20 yards.
Chris Smith headed wide and Bradley Pritchard had an effort blocked, but the visitors held on.
