Stevenage midfielder Mitchell Cole hit his first league goal of the season
Stevenage kept up their pursuit of Oxford United at the top of the Blue Square Premier table as they maintained their unbeaten home league record.
But Kidderminster Harriers complained to the referee about the validity of both Stevenage goals as their winless run stretched to four games.
Jon Ashton back-headed Stevenage ahead from Ronnie Henry's disputed free-kick.
And Mitchell Cole's second, from Darren Murphy's knockdown, was scored after big visiting shouts for offside.
Cole's first goal of the season keeps second-placed Stevenage within five points of leaders Oxford.
As for the aggrieved Harriers, it was the third successive game in which Mark Yates' men have failed to score since the sale of top scorer Matt Barnes-Homer.
Harriers manager Mark Yates told BBC Hereford and Worcester:
"We got beaten up, we got bullied and we got outworked and we didn't do all the horrible stuff.
"To concede two goals like we did was really poor as we have been practising set pieces and we certainly haven't been working on offsides.
"The lads tell me he was offside but, on today's performance, I can guarantee that one of mine was keeping him onside."
