Partridge joined Kettering on loan from MK Dons last month
On-loan winger Ritchie Partridge scored his first goal for Kettering with a deft curling shot from the edge of the area to dent Luton's promotion hopes.
Kevin Gallen's drilled 18-yard shot drew a fine save from Kettering player-manager Lee Harper on 28 minutes.
Kettering's slick passing lacked decisive finishing early on but they came alive in the second half.
Luton seldom threatened Harper after the break, with Adam Newton's 25-yard shot wide a rare incident of note.
Kettering winger Ritchie Partridge told BBC Northampton:
"I just got on the end of it, then cut in, the space opened up and I shot with my left foot and it's nice to see it go in the top corner.
"All credit to the boys. It was a fantastic display and coming here and getting all three points in a vital league game was brilliant for the boys."
