Cambridge twice fought back from behind to draw with Eastbourne in an entertaining encounter at Priory Lane.
The Sports took the lead through a Paul Armstrong header only for the U's to draw level thanks to an own goal from Ben Austin.
Eastbourne took just one minute to get back in front, Liam Enver-Marum with the header from inside the box.
Cambridge drew level at the start of the second half through a Brian Saah header from a Robbie Willmott corner.
Mark Beesley appeared as a late substitute in his first game back with Cambridge after having his loan spell cut short at Chester.
"We thought bringing back 'Bees' was the right thing to do," said Cambridge boss Martin Ling. "Playing regularly has done him good.
"He said it was getting a bit fraught up there towards the end and wasn't really working smoothly. And he's back a few days early."
