New Kettering player-boss Lee Harper suffered a second successive defeat as Hayes & Yeading secured their fifth win in a row in the Blue Square Premier.

Having lost his first game in charge to Kidderminster at the weekend, Harper's side failed to make chances pay before succumbing to a late goal.

Substitute Craig Watkins secured the points for Hayes by curling a right-footed shot past Harper from 12 yards.

Anthony Elding went close for the Poppies but his volley went wide.
