Cantona visited Twerton Park in the summer for a fundraising event
Film-maker Ken Loach says Blue Square South side Bath City need not feel daunted by either of their prospective opponents in the FA Cup second round.
And lifelong fan Loach says the side even have the good wishes of his friend Manchester United legend Eric Cantona.
Loach told BBC Radio Bristol: "I sent Eric a text before the Grimsby game and he sent me a good luck message. He'll be delighted."
Bath face either Forest Green Rovers or Mansfield on 28 November.
They earned the home tie by winning 2-0 at League Two strugglers Grimsby on Saturday.
Loach said: "Football has a nasty habit of kicking you in the teeth but I certainly don't think the team will be daunted by the prospect of facing either.
"We've been away at Grimsby and beaten them so they needn't be overawed, but it will be a testing game.
"What is really important is that people come along and get behind the team.
"[Manager] Adie [Britton] and the team have shown what they can do and it needs the supporters to come along and show their support."
