Dover in no rush to go full-time

Andy Hessenthaler
Hessenthaler says their poor recent run has provided a reality check

Dover manager Andy Hessenthaler says it may not be economically beneficial for the club to turn full-time even if they win a third straight promotion.

The Blue Square South second-placed side were part-time during a nine-year spell in the Conference but now the majority of clubs there are full-time.

He told BBC Radio Kent: I think we've got to look at the bigger picture.

"The crowds have been good this year, but they've not been that much different from the year before."

"Players do earn good money at non-league level two nights a week, so to go full-time, I'm not sure it's the right thing to do if we did get that promotion this year."
