Stevenage 5-3 Gateshead

Charlie Griffin
Griffin joined Stevenage from Salisbury in May

Striker Charlie Griffin atoned for an own goal by scoring a superb hat-trick to help Stevenage defeat Gateshead.

Griffin headed into his own net from a free-kick but rifled in a leveller and Yemi Odabade's strike put Boro ahead.

Griffin headed into the right net and Daryl Clare powered in for Gateshead to make it 3-2 but Griffin's free-kick restored Boro's two-goal lead.

Clare netted from close range but Michael Bostwick's long-range strike sealed the win for Stevenage.
