Graeme Armstrong's first-half double helped Gateshead to cruise to victory over fellow strugglers Eastbourne.
Armstrong opened the scoring on 14 minutes when he drilled in Craig Baxter's right-wing cross.
And he made it 2-0 three minutes later with a fine volley into the top corner after good work by Michael Mackay.
Eastbourne rarely threatened and the home side wrapped up their third league win of the season with six minutes left when Phil Turnbull fired home.
