Scott Laird scored a late winner for Stevenage as they extended their unbeaten run to eight games at Luton.
Mark Roberts almost gave the visitors the lead with a header from a corner which dropped just wide.
Jake Howells volleyed over the bar for Luton and Stevenage's Chris Beardsley saw his shot tipped around the post by Mark Tyler.
The Hatters' George Pilkington hit the post before Laird struck a left-foot shot into the top corner of the net.
