Gateshead 0-1 Oxford United
Leaders Oxford put their midweek defeat against Mansfield behind them to record a narrow win against Gateshead.
Despite the visitors dominating the first half, it was the home side who went closest through Steven Richardson and Wayne Phillips.
Oxford eventually took the lead when Steven Kinniburgh set up Matthew Green to power in a shot from close range.
Gateshead pushed for an equaliser but United held on to extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points.
