Salisbury 1-1 Chester

Blue Square Premier

Bottom club Chester City wasted a great chance to claim their first away win of the season from an uninspiring contest.

After wasting two chances himself, Kevin Roberts turned provider to set up fellow midfielder Ben Wilkinson for his third goal of the season from 18 yards.

But Sean Clohessy levelled from Luke Ruddick's cross just two minutes later.

And, to add injury to insult, Chester keeper John Danby was forced off in the process, being replaced by summer signing Andrew Murphy.

Salisbury City manager Tommy Widdrington told BBC Wiltshire:

"I see it as two points dropped. I thought we had more than enough chances to win the game before the decision was given against us.

"We needed to put the ball in areas to get the job done. I don't we think we did that enough.

"When we did, it looked like we were going to score. We got a point through it, we nearly managed to sneak the three."
