Gateshead 2-1 Salisbury

Two first-half goals proved enough to earn Gateshead a win over Salisbury.

Kris Gate gave the home side an eighth-minute lead, connecting with a cross from Steve Richardson.

Richardson turned from provider to scorer six minutes before the break, cutting in from the right to score with his left foot from outside the area.

Matthew Tubbs scored from the spot just after the break to give Salisbury hope but that all but vanished when Daniel Webb was sent off for two bookings.
