Claridge is a pundit on the BBC's The Football League Show
Striker Steve Claridge is to come out of retirement at the age of 43 to help cash-strapped club Weymouth.
The former player-manager of the non-league outfit is to play for nothing against Blue Square South rivals Bromley in Saturday's home clash.
Claridge has played 1,008 matches in a career spanning more than two decades.
Dave Higson, Weymouth's acting chairman, said: "Steve will not be coaching or managing, just playing some games to help out in our survival bid."
The club's board of directors met on 29 August and set themselves a deadline of 10 days to find new investment of around £50,000 or face the prospect of going into administration.
