Richard Brodie scored his fifth goal of the season to help York make it three wins in a row with a win over Crawley.
York went ahead early on when Brodie was fouled by Dominic Collins in the penalty area, and the striker himself scored the resulting spot-kick.
Brodie turned provider for York's second soon after, setting up Michael Gash who finished from close range.
Eddie Hutchinson and Kieran Djilali went close for Town while York missed a host of chances to increase their lead.
