Michael Bostwick's fantastic strike gave Stevenage a home win over 10-man Rushden & Diamonds.
Stevenage made the perfect start when Lee Boylan slotted home a penalty after Chris Beardsley was brought down by Curtis Osano.
Things got worse for the visitors when Michael Corcoran was shown a straight red for hacking down Lawrie Wilson.
Rushden levelled when Cliff Akurang converted Matt Pattison's centre but Bostwick won it from 18 yards out.
