Brian Smikle scored twice to help Kidderminster overtake Altrincham in the table in a game which saw both sides reduced to 10 men.
He netted an early opener, converting Kyle Hadly's pass from close range but Harriers were a man down minutes later after a Martin Riley professional foul.
Matthew Barnes-Homer doubled the lead from inside the box.
Shaun Densmore brought down Smikle to see red for Alty and Smikle wrapped up the win with a tap-in from six yards.
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates told BBC Hereford and Worcester:
"The most important thing was the three points although there was a bit of controversy with some of the decisions and one or two might have gone for us today.
"But on the back of that we played very well and we thoroughly deserved the victory even if it was a bit bitty.
"I thought Martin Riley's sending-off was very harsh as it was a great flighted ball over his head and I honestly thought they just collided."
